"Art is Not What You See, But What You Make Others See." - Edgar Degas

Supporting Local Art at Betsy Frost Design Studio & Gallery

“Being a designer myself, I have always believed strongly in supporting my fellow artists. Whether by promoting them in my shop, or mentoring them in design, production or marketing, one of my biggest joys is sharing the beauty of colleagues’s art. In addition, owning a shop has given me the opportunity to support local artists in our Ipswich community.” - Betsy

In the shop we have a small section dedicated to showcasing fine art of some of Ipswich’s talented local artists. In addition, we also carry handcrafted products and gifts created by artisans locally, regionally, and internationally.

This Blog introduces you to two of our Ipswich Artists who consign their beautifully colorful landscapes for us to showcase!

ANDREA MAGLIO-MACULLAR

Andrea and her painting of the Boardwalk at Crane Beach. This is a commission piece she created for one of our favorite customers!

Andrea is from the North Shore of Massachusetts. She has been painting since she was very young, and has always been interested in all things creative. Andrea studied art at Montserrat College of Art. She is also an award-winning local Ipswich artist, painter, illustrator, and writer.  Andrea participates in many solo art shows as well as local art association shows on the North Shore and Ipswich’s own - Olde Ipswich Days. Her love of painting offers beautiful landscape scenes of Crane Beach, Crane Castle, and many other local Ipswich & North Shore scenes. She also produces abstract work and floral art. We also carry some of her greeting cards created from her paintings and we are very happy to feature her work here at the shop!
